Minutes: January 27th, 2004
 

     Meeting of the Catawba Island Township Trustees was held January 27, 2004 in the conference room with William Rofkar and Gary Mortus present; also James Stouffer, Steve May and Kate Botti from the News Herald.

    Vice Chairman William Rofkar opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.  A motion was made by Gary Mortus and seconded by William Rofkar to approve the minutes of the last meeting as submitted and to be posted.  Both voted aye.  Gary Mortus made a motion to pay the bills in the amount of $42,854.73.  William Rofkar second and the vote: W. Rofkar-aye and G. Mortus-aye.

Correspondence included letter from Mark Mulligan, P.A., requesting funds for Drug Task Force based on population this year,  Ottawa County Engineer regarding County-Township Cooperative Road Program,  Treasurer of State, Joseph Deters regarding conferences on Public Investment Management,  Ohio Public Employees Retirement System including an Employer Manual, Ohio Department of Natural Resources in-

Cluding a 2004 Events Calendar, Amended Official Certificate of Estimated Resources from Ottawa County Budget Commission, copy of letter from Auditor of State regarding the Local Government Officials Conference from Jodi Regal and quotations for Administration Building -$2475.00 plus 650.00 for planting flowers and $2350.00 for Cemetery from Thompson Landscaping.  County Engineer and Thompson Landscaping were tabled until the next meeting when all the Board would be present.

    Jim Stouffer stated they just wanted to update the Board on their PUD and submitted final drawings for Phase II and explained the changes. Will be discussed with Zoning Inspector  as to any questions and hope to have final approval at the next meeting.

      Gary Mortus stated need quote for landscaping at the boat ramp and Clerk should call Thompson for a quote.  Appropriation meeting will be February 4 after employee meeting.

      Clerk received call from Barbara Farrow stating she did not receive a copy of the tape for the meeting on August 26, 2003 regarding Gem Beach pool portion.  Following discussion clerk will call her and advise the minutes are on the web and if she still wants the tape will take it up to Prosecuting Attorney’s office so a copy can be made.

     William Rofkar stated should advertise in News Herald for bids on the ambulance since it was published in the Ohio Township News with bids due February 10 and he will fax it to News Herald.

     A motion was made by Gary Mortus and seconded by William Rofkar to adjourn at 8:00 p.m.  Both voted aye.
