Zoning public hearing was held
before the regular meeting of the Catawba Island Township Trustees on
February 11, 2003 in the conference room with Gary Mortus and William
Rofkar present; also Pat Cerny, Steve May,
George Wight, Gil Koch, Alan Stryker and Bill Keyser. |
Chairman Gary Mortus
opened the hearing by reviewing Application #7480 to rezone multiple
A,R-4,C-3 parcels of property to RE filed by the Catawba-Cleveland
Development Company. Ottawa Regional Planning Commission and the Catawba
Zoning Commission both recommended rezoning. |
Steve May stated the Planned
Unit Development plan will be presented at the February 25th
meeting. Most of the parcels are being down zoned to RE. Would there
have to be a specific date to have this tabled? |
Gary stated a PUD is heard
by this Board and Zoning Commission could only review it at a work
session and hear comments but could not vote on it until the parcels are
rezoned. This could be continued until March 4 which would be within
thirty days for a special meeting or it can be continued until the next
meeting on the 25th to be voted on but am not opposed to hear
public comment since you took the time to come to the Zoning hearing. |
Mr. Wight, Mr. Stryker,
Mr. Koch and Mr. Krieger stated they just wanted to know what was going
on and if there were plans that could be reviewed. |
Gary stated a PUD has to
be in RE District and that is why they are asking for rezoning and then
this Board will act on the PUD This Board will vote on the rezoning at
the February 25th meeting and the Zoning Commission can
discuss the PUD at their February 26th meeting and hear any
public comment. The CIC is very sensitive that everyone knows what they
are planning on doing. |
Steve stated the plans are
available to be viewed in the Zoning office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. They can be seen tonight if you
would like to see them. |
