Minutes: February 13th, 2007
 

The regular meeting of the Catawba Island Township Trustees was called to order by chairman Gary Mortus at 7:30 p.m.  Also present:  Robert Schroeder, William Rofkar, Pat Cerny and James Stouffer.  William Rofkar made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 23, 2007 business meeting seconded by Robert Schroeder; all voted aye.  Robert Schroeder made a motion to pay the bills in the amount of $60,846.37 seconded by William Rofkar;  all voted aye.

Correspondence included an invitation for worksite wellness; a thank you card from Dorothy Gulau’s children; Mark Mulligan requesting funds for the Drug Task Force;

Port Clinton Computer quote for Pat Cernys computer upgrade, a letter from Michael and Susan Weiss from Oak Lake Drive, thanking the Police Department for their great response time and kindness; the siren renewal; Ottawa County Engineer’s office for work requests and a response time deadline; Eagle Beach Wildwood Association asking that we do not approve plans for construction until their association has approved them and a thank you from Cintas for our business and a reminder from Risk Management in regard to our rental policys and parks. 

 

Mr. Stouffer gave an overview of his rezoning application in regard to the Drusbacky property.  There will be two golf holes constructed on 20 +/- acres of their property.  In the center would be a residential pocket.        

 

Robert Schroeder would like to do a title search on the Catawba School building.  James Stouffer has done one already.  Mr. Stouffer stated the School Board merged with Port Clinton’s school district and did not require the title to change.  Mr. Stouffer will talk to Hartung Title and help the Township with the information and then have Mark Mulligan review the title. 

 

William Rofkar made a motion to approve the permanent appropriations in the amount of $2,742,790.73 seconded by Robert Schroeder.  All voted aye. 

 

Gary Mortus made a motion to renew the tornado siren maintenance contract for the two sirens in the amount of $1358.00 from Transcore seconded by William Rofkar.  All voted aye.  William Rofkar made a motion seconded by Robert Schroeder to upgrade the computer in the Zoning Office in the amount of $1000.00.  All voted aye.  Jerry Davenport will be asked to give the township a price for entrance signs onto Catawba Island Township. 

 

Robert Schroeder made a motion to adjourn and William Rofkar seconded.  All voted aye.
