Minutes: February 27th, 2007
 

The regular meeting of the Catawba Island Township Trustees was called to order by vice chairman Robert Schroeder at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room and began with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Also present:  William Rofkar, Robert Schroeder, Pat Cerny, Meredith Beck, James Stouffer, Tony Corona, Randy Reidmaier, Steve Arndt and Kelly Frey.
 

The minutes of the February 13, 2007 minutes were read and approved.  William Rofkar made a motion to approve the minutes seconded by Robert Schroeder.  All voted aye.  Robert Schroeder made a motion to pay the bills in the amount of $50, 934.87 seconded by William Rofkar.  All voted aye.

Correspondence included a letter from Harold and Bea Green in regard to the snow removal on Catawba being the best;  Hylant Group preparation for the renewal of the township’s commercial insurance; Walter Wehenkel Community Development Block Grant program.
 

Meredith Beck discussed girdling the trees in the park area.  William Rofkar is not in favor of making any changes to the parks as he feels they should stay in their natural state.
 

Randy Reidmaier presented the Trustees with a 2006 Year End Activity Report from the Marine Patrol and is requesting monetary assistance from the Township.
 

Kelly Frey, Ottawa County Sanitary Engineer presented the Trustees with the final plans, specifications and cost estimates for the Sand Road Waterline Replacement Project.  There will be four (4) hydrants strategically placed and will require a check for $12,000 prior to the Public hearing scheduled for April 19, 2007.
 

Pat Cerny requested a transfer of $150,000.00 from Star Ohio to the Huntington Bank to be put into the General Fund, the Police Fund, and the Fire Fund.  William Rofkar made a motion to transfer seconded by Robert Schroeder.  All voted aye.
 

William Rofkar stated he is working on a restroom project for the Heigel Park and is working with Don Waggoner on this also.
 

Robert Schroeder stated he would like to discuss the Community Hall rentals at the next Board of Trustees’ Meeting.
 

William Rofkar made a motion to adjourn at 8:25 p.m. seconded by Robert Schroeder.  All voted aye.
