Minutes: April 11th, 2006
 

    Business meeting of the Catawba Island Township Trustees was held April 11, 2006 in the conference room with Gary Mortus and William Rofkar present: also Pat Cerny, Jack DeVore and John DeBarr.

     Chairman Gary Mortus opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.,  A motion was made by William Rofkar and seconded by Gary Mortus to approve the minutes of the last meeting as submitted and to be posted.  Both voted aye.  William Rofkar made a motion to pay the bills in the amount of $29,614.50.  Gary Mortus second and both voted aye.

Correspondence included letter from Ohio Department of Public Safety including check for $153.22 for 2005 Excess IRP Compensation Distribution, invitation from friends of Catawba Island Parks to attend Presentation of Catawba’s newest preserve on Earth Day, April 22, 2006 from 3-5 pm,  Seven Limers announcing the closing of their business affective June 30,2006, Board of Elections regarding the primary election on May 2,  Ohio EPA regarding public meeting on two Sandusky Bay Projects and Auditor of State Bulletin 2006-001 regarding Township Official’s Compensation.

     Pat Cerny stated she received a call from Catherine Pfeiffer if they could use the coffee urn from the Community Hall on April 22 and Gary said it is no longer there. Need more members on the Zoning Boards but it was tabled until the next meeting when Bob would be back.

     William Rofkar stated the Community Hall will be shut down to walkers effective April 21, 2006.  Presented proposal from Norwalk Landscaping Materials for $10,462.00 to grind brush and leaves.

     A motion was made by William Rofkar and seconded by Gary Mortus to award contract to Norwalk Landscaping Materials for $10,462.00 to grind brush, leaves and chips at Catawba Compost site.  The vote: G. Mortus-aye,  W. Rofkar-aye.

    Gary Mortus stated the proposals for landscaping and planting at the Administration Building and Cemetery will be tabled until next meeting when Bob Schroeder is present. Employees will start loading mulch after Norwalk Landscaping is finished with the grinding.

     A motion was made by William Rofkar and seconded by Gary Mortus to adjourn at 8:00 p.m.   Both voted aye.
