Pat Cerny stated she called FSI to schedule next years clean-up week; May 7 through May 13 and October 15 through October 21.

Gary Mortus ststed there has been no additional animal waste dumping on the Balliette property which was confirmed by the Health Department.  The Soil and Water is currently working with Mr. Wiza and also the EPA is involved.  Nancy Osborn also confirmed there have been no additional dumpings.  William Rofkar is still concerned about the twenty feet between the animals and the catch basin on Muggy Road, twenty feet from the catch basin to where his fence is.  Gary Mortus will check with Mike Libben and Gary Mortus stated Mike Libben stated the water run-off this past period of time was ground water not sewage water.  Mr. Wiza is maintaining his waste the way he is supposed to.  Mr. Doughtery stated there is a commode on the second floor of the barn and there is no septic system.  It is draining into the tiles that go into the Catawba Bay.  Gary Mortus will contact Scott Young about this issue.

James Stouffer apologized for any road mud issues with the rain.  He also explained the drainage of the ponds and the greens.  Mr. Stouffer stated he would like to address the corner of Cemetery Road and Northwest Catawba Road.  He will bring in a sketch of an idea of a stone wall for the corner that will possibly say Catawba Island Township, the Administration and the Fire Department, just a natural corner stone.  The Trustees will consider this after seeing drawings.

Robert Schroeder stated the Police Department would like to hire Bob Dankelson for one day a week through September on the day the police are in court.  He comes with excellent references.  The Trustees agreed.  There is an application from a Mike Ebert who would like to become a volunteer fireman.  Gary Mortus made a motion to approve Mike Ebert as a new probationary fireman.  Robert Schroeder seconded.  All voted aye.

Robert Schroeder stated he has a letter from an arborist in regard to the Norway Maples in the preserve.  The Park Board also thinks they should be controlled.  Gary Mortus has someone to look at this situation also.  William Rofkar has a concern with girdling trees and leaving dead trees standing.

Robert Schroeder stated Dean Cleveland’s property in the Cliffs backs up to the Nature Preserve.  A large tree fell down with the root ball and Mr. Cleveland claims it is laying on his property.  The pins are trying to be located and if it is the townships tree, we will remove it.  William Rofkar stated the aerial photo looks like it is the township’s tree.

Gary Mortus stated he has been working with Dave Brunkhort’s office in regard to shooting the elevations in Gem Beach and he discussed horizontal boring and there will be paperwork for the easements.

Robert Schroeder made a motion to adjourn.  William Rofkar seconded.  All voted aye.
