Minutes: July 25th, 2006
 

The Business meeting of the Catawba Island Township Trustees was held on July 25, 2006 in the conference room with all present.  Also present:  Mr. & Mrs. Martin Grover, Jack DeVore, Steve May, Reggie Langford, Ann Rump, Sharon Allen, Bill Vandergiessen, James Zaremba and Pat Cerny.

 

Robert Schroeder made a motion to hire Pat Cerny as the Assistant to the Fiscal Officer in the amount of $1.00 a year.  William Rofkar seconded.  All voted aye.  A motion was made by William Rofkar and seconded by Robert Schroeder to pay the bills in the amount of  $39,577.86.  All voted aye.  A motion was made by Robert Schroeder and seconded by William Rofkar to approve the minutes of the July 11, 2006 meeting.  All voted aye.

Communications included Ottawa Soil & Water Newsletter; Ohio Department of Public Safety Tax Distribution for the month of June; courtesy letter from Frank Harmon, Ohio Insurance Services, Inc.; Ottawa County Board of Health $43,323.86 amount to be included in township’s budget; Kalida Truck Equipment, Inc. introducing two new employees; Mark Mulligan, Ottawa County Prosecutor, informing all townships of new authority to regulate adult entertainment under AM. Sub HB 23 effective August 17, 2006; courtesy letter from Ford Motor.  Invitation to the Ottawa County Township Trustees & Clerks Association meeting being held at the Danbury Township Shelter House August 17, 2006 at 6:30 p.m.  Ohio Division Of Liquor Control in regard to Gem Beach Club, LLC inquiring if a hearing is needed for a permit application.  There was some discussion from Ann Rump and Sharon Allen, residents of Gem Beach. 

 

Sharon Allen of Gem Beach enquired about golf carts and the permissible road to use them.  The Trustees explained what is permissible and it was suggested they talk to the Police.

 

James Zaremba, Linda Drive, had the storm sewer water back up into his basement.  It was discovered there was no permission given to tie into the township sewer drain.  The township will check to see if the pipe is blocked, but the rest is up to the property owner. 

 

William Rofkar made a motion to adjourn and Robert Schroeder seconded.  All voted aye.
