Minutes: September 26th, 2006
 

    Catawba Island Township Trustees held their regular meeting on September 26,2006 in the conference room with all present; also Pat Cerny, Reggie Langford, James Stouffer, Marvin & Joan Grover, Stan McCumber and William Fritz.

    Chairman Gary Mortus opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.  A motion was made by William Rofkar and seconded by Robert Schroeder to approve the minutes of the last meeting as submitted. All voted aye.  A motion was made by Robert Schroeder and seconded by William Rofkar to pay the bills in the amount of $47,431.33. All voted aye.

Correspondence included Notices of Property Appraisal, letter from Sheriff’s Office stating Community Operational Review Meeting will be Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Danbury Township Hall,  Board of Elections regarding General Election on November 7, 2006, Prosecutor Mark Mulligan including HB 385 regarding Noise Control, Colin Dussolt Blues Project regarding parking on Mon Ami Road and Kalida Truck Equipment Company announcing an open house.

    Pat Cerny asked about hours for cleanup week October 16-22 and was advised from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on week days and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Pat talked to Walter Wehenkel and Mark Mulligan about the house on the barge and both advised it could not be done.

     Reggie Langford stated he found a company with a veteran’s monument and presented a copy of the monument to the Board with a cost of $4200.00 and will try and get donations to pay for the monument.  Will send letter to Associations and the Beacon for donations.

     Bill Fritz reported on the names of Commercial vehicles bringing in brush/grass clippings and number of times they brought it to the compost. Robert Schroeder stated should have a Part=time Police at the cause way and Sand Road to follow trucks to compost and tell them they are not allowed to dump there; that it is only for Township residents..  William Rofkar stated don’t know how you can stop Commercial dumping and would like to see something implemented for Commercial. Gary Mortus stated why should a resident pay for having the lawn mowed  including removal of the grass and then the Commercial truck brings it to the compost free of charge.  Jim Stouffer stated the Township has a Commercial operation and should be charging for it.

      Robert Schroeder asked about the letter from the Blues Project being the police told them they were blocking the road when loading their equipment at the Mon Ami and feels the police should have cited them.  Bill Rofkar stated he talked to the police about it.

     Gary Mortus stated Halloween trick ‘n Treat will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on October 31, 2006.

    A motion was made Robert Schroeder and seconded by William Rofkar to adjourn at 8:20 p.m..  All voted aye.
