Minutes: November 28th, 2006
 

The Catawba Island Township Trustees held their regular meeting on November 28, 2006, 7:30 p.m. in the conference room with all present; also Pat Cerny, Martin Joyce, Ann Joyce and Reggie Langford. 

Chairman Gary Mortus opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.  William Rofkar made a motion to approve the minutes of the November 14, 2006 meeting  as submitted and to be posted.  Robert Schroeder seconded.  All voted aye.  A motion was made by Robert Schroeder and seconded by William Rofkar to pay the bills in the amount of $48,866.87.  All voted aye.

Correspondence included Ohio Insurance Agency information regarding renewal;

Anthem Life Insurance renewal; The Ohio Plan Risk Management, Bill Balmat, in regard to meeting with William Rofkar and Pat Cerny about our liability insurance and their recommendations; Ottawa Regional Planning Commission recommending approval of the Restricted Commercial Zoning District and adding it to our resolution; Humane Society Newsletter; Stein Hospice season’s greeting note. 

 

Gary Mortus stated to the Joyces the county is getting close to correcting their drainage problem as they will be sending out bids and the easements need to be signed and this would be accomplished by spring. 

 

Reggie Langford gave an update on the Veteran’s memorial monument that he is heading up.  A program has been set up for May 26, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. for a dedication with local guest speakers.  The Trustees thanked Reggie for a great job.  Reggie Langford also commended the Maintenance Department for the great job they do with the leaf pick-up program. 

 

Robert Schroeder has a list of items the Fire Department needs and stated Truck 222 has been repaired by the members of the Department. 

Pat Cerny asked what the fee will be for an application for a Planned Unit Development expansion using adjoining land.  The Trustees will look into this and make a determination.    

 

Gary Mortus stated the next meeting about “police in schools” will be December 4, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at Port Clinton City Hall.  William Rofkar will attend. 

 

William Rofkar made a motion for adjournment.  Robert Schroeder seconded.  All voted aye.
