Zoning Hearing #543407

Chairman William Rofkar called the public zoning hearing in regard to request #543407 to order at 7:00 p.m. on April 28, 2009 in the conference room.

In attendance: William Rofkar, Robert Schroeder, Gary Mortus, Pat Cerny, Jack Devore, Matt Montowski, James Stouffer, Steve May, Reggie Langford, Robert Snyder, John Gangway, Ron and Maryann Gesci and Marv Grover.

Request #543407 is from the Catawba Cleveland Development Corp. in reference to their request to expand the Catawba Island Club Golf Course PUD to the five acre parcel immediately adjacent to the north and east of their existing PUD which is the site of the former Catawba Elementary School recently rezoned to the R-E District.

Mr. James Stouffer gave a presentation and answered questions regarding the neighbors concerns about trees, barriers, etc. Steve May gave a presentation and showed the Trustees and audience a layout of the parking area, the screening, and the inside of the building, etc. There may eventually be a museum in the building.

James Stouffer stated there were concerns about what is permitted in the C-1 district and he assured that they will do only what is allowed and no conditional uses would be permitted as per the zoning resolution. James Stouffer also stated there would be a person in-charge in the dormitory area at all times.

Robert Snyder stated the CIC has a great track record and a PUD should make people happy because the plan will be the way it has to be. The PUD will protect this property and it will be for the betterment of Catawba.

The Trustees closed the hearing to the public for their discussion. The Trustees stated they are happy with the application and stated the CIC is very easy to work with and satisfy the needs of all.
