Special Meeting
March 26, 2019
Catawba Island Township Trustees held a special meeting on Tuesday, March 26, at
6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the administration building. The purpose of the meeting was to meet with members of the Catawba Island Volunteer Fire Department to discuss the prospect of EMS billing.
In attendance were: Gary Mortus, Matt Montowski, William Rofkar, Kevin Wylie,
John Gangway, Will Moore Jr., Randy Riedmaier, Julie Wylie, and Heath Smedley
William Rofkar expressed the need to generate additional revenue for fire department expenses.
Heath Smedley of Medicount gave an overview of operations including services provided, potential revenue to the township, and the cost of services. Heath Smedley said they require a four year contract.
Fire Chief Kevin Wylie answered questions regarding current EMS operations.
A lengthy discussion took place regarding the operations of both Medicount and Catawba Island Volunteer Fire Department.
Billing options to consider for residents and non-residents were discussed.
No decisions or motions were made and the meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
