CATAWBA ISLAND TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES
MINUTES OF MAY 11, 2010 BUSINESS MEETING

The regular business meeting of the Catawba Island Township Board of Trustees was called to order by chairman Gary Mortus at 7:30 p.m. on May 11, 2010 in the conference room. Also present William Rofkar, Matt Montowski and Pat Cerny.

Visitors attending: Jack DeVore, Reggie Langford, James Stouffer, Tony Corona, William Fritz, Keith Fisher, and John Gangway.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.

Pat Cerny read the minutes of the April 27, 2010 meeting. Matt Montowski made a motion to approve the minutes as read seconded by William Rofkar. All voted aye.

Matt Montowski made a motion to approve the bills and warrants in the amount of $22,331.51 seconded by William Rofkar. All voted aye to pay the bills.

The following correspondence was received:
David Brunkhorst, County Engineer, Round 25 SCIP & LTIP – Issue 1, offering assistance in preparing applications.
General price list from Castalia Trenching.
Ohio Division of Liquor Control requesting whether or not to have a hearing for the Pottbelly Café LLC DBA Catawba Café liquor license.
Matt Montowski made a motion to waive the hearing for the Pottbelly Café LLC liquor license seconded by William Rofkar; all voted aye.

Tony Corona, Operations Manager, Sunshine Companies requesting a Minor Deviation from their PUD in regard to their latest concept in Maintenance Free Living at the Fairway Villas. Mr. Corona presented the plan to the Trustees along with a deviation request for a new sign.
William Rofkar made a motion to approve the minor deviation, that Building 38 become 4 individual structures verses one seconded by Matt Montowski. All voted aye. Matt Montowski made a motion for the minor deviation of the new project sign at the Fairway Villas seconded by William Rofkar. All voted aye.

James Stouffer stated he would be happy to work with the Fire Department to make an effort to pull some of the marina owners together to help with the fire boat grant.

Matt Montowski received a call from Phil Gutkoski on May 3rd regarding the fish odor at the Holiday Village and he and Pat Cerny went out to visit him and they only smelled bleach. Matt Montowski received another call on May 6th and again there was no odor.

Matt Montowski asked if we have a county flag. Gary Mortus replied no but he would be interested in a Ohio flag. William Rofkar likes the American flag by itself.

A parking lot permit has not been received from Marine Max as of yet.
Catawba Landings will be cited as the new parking lot is on his property is being leased by Marine Max.

Reggie Langford stated if Holiday Village had another piece of property
he would help him set up a fish composting system.

Pat Cerny submitted her zoning report for the month of April. Four additions, two fences, one variance application, one new home, one duplex, and one three unit building.

Gary Mortus stated Port Clinton would like a letter of support from our Board of Trustees supporting the partnership of the county and the city for road improvement of Fulton Street from Perry Street to the hospital utilizing possible Issue 2 or grant dollars because all of the east end fire departments have to use that for an ambulance route.

William Rofkar made a motion to adjourn seconded by Matt Montowski. All voted aye. 8:00 p.m.
